A

What was the process?

Kentwood has been contemplating a brand refresh since 2015, and in early 2018 the leadership team agreed to bring in a specialized branding agency to assist in the process.

 

Several agencies were identified, and through an interview and research process it was narrowed to two highly regarded firms. One in New York City that managed a well-known boutique real estate company’s rebranding, and a local Denver firm, Studio Mast. Our leadership team determined that the local firm, Studio Mast, was the right fit for Kentwood. We felt they understood the markets we serve, and what the Kentwood brand already stands for.

 

Through a series of stakeholder interviews and brand audits, the team at Studio Mast gathered further knowledge and understanding of Kentwood and our unique story. They helped hone our Brand Statement & Brand Pillars, uncovering the unique and relevant truth about Kentwood.

 

During the visual process, Studio Mast created concepts driven and inspired by the findings of their preliminary phase and presented them to the Kentwood leadership and marketing teams. After input from the Kentwood team, a direction was chosen, and the process of refinement began. The result is a solid solution and a beautiful, renewed brand image for Kentwood Real Estate.

How many people were involved?

A

With the stakeholder interviews and involvement of the Kentwood leadership and marketing teams, over 35 people were involved in this process.

When will this roll out?

A

The new brochure designs are available for immediate use in the new Kentwood Basecamp marketing center. A press release was distributed on 12/12 announcing the new Kentwood branding to the media along with sample pieces. Expect to see Kentwood advertisements featuring the new brand image as early as mid-December, with more to come in early 2019. Business cards, letterhead and stationary will be replaced and available by the first week in January. New For Sale signs will be installed in January. Brokers who host open houses will be given a new Open House driveway sign and can continue to use the now “vintage” Open House signs to mark the way.

How will this roll out?

A

Following the press release distribution, we’ll start to show the new branding to the public through strategically placed print and digital advertisements. Our new For Sale signs will be placed at active listings in January. All materials, company or agent level, will include the new Kentwood logo (and colors, if applicable) by March 31, 2019. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Websites (whether provided by Kentwood or another source)

  • Email signatures

  • Brochures

  • Postcards

  • Personal promotional pieces

  • Social media

  • Advertisements

  • Listing presentations

  • Blogs

  • MLS headers

  • Signage

  • All other materials that include the Kentwood logo

Can we still look at other options? I'm not sure of this change.

A

We encourage everyone to give the new look some time before making a final judgment. We believe that once you have time to absorb the flexibility of the word mark and icon, and the beauty of the color palette, you’ll come to love it as much as we do.

Can I get new materials to include in my listing presentation?

A

The Kentwood Manifesto piece that you received at the roll out meeting is available for agents to use and is a great addition to include in listing presentations. The Kentwood Seller & Buyer books will be redesigned for 2019 to reflect the new branding and new information. We’re happy to prepare any other materials by request.

Great swag! Can I get some for my clients?

A

Everything in your Kentwood swag bag can be purchased through the marketing department, including the totes, pens, journals, coffee mugs, and business card holders. More items will be made available for purchase in the future.

What's the status of the website redesign?

A

Our team is working on first implementing the new brand logo, wordmark, and colors onto our existing site, which we expect to be complete before the end of the 2018. Next, we will focus on a complete redesign of the Kentwood website. This is a long and involved process, with a tremendous amount of coding involved. We hope to see the website completely redesigned by late 2019 or early 2020.

What is Kentwood paying for and what will I be responsible for?

A

Kentwood will pay for the replacement of all For Sale signs, 500 business cards, and 1 driveway Open House sign. We will also provide up to 50 reprints of any brochures for active listings or other materials that need replacing.
